ONGOING PARTNERSHIPS

YOUR STORY DOESN'T HAPPEN ONCE A YEAR.

Most brands treat film like a one-time purchase — a big shoot, a big invoice, then twelve months of silence. The organizations that actually move people work with a filmmaker all year long. We embed with a small number of partners and build their story continuously: campaigns, events, social, the whole arc.

WHY RETAINER

ONE FILM IS A MOMENT. A YEAR OF FILM IS A MOVEMENT.

A retainer isn't a discount on production. It's a different relationship — one where we already know your people, your rooms, your calendar, and your voice before the camera comes out of the case.

01

No re-onboarding tax

Every one-off project spends its first week relearning who you are. On retainer, that week is already paid for — permanently. We show up knowing the room.

02

Story compounds

Footage from March becomes the campaign film in October. A retainer builds an archive that gets more valuable every quarter instead of expiring with the invoice.

03

You stop guessing at cost

A flat monthly number replaces five separate scopes, five negotiations, and five surprise line items. You budget once and get a year of work.

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IN PRACTICE — BLACK PROJECT SUP, SIX MONTHS

CAMPAIGN SHOOT

Athletes on Maui — SUP, foil, sprint.

HERO + CUTDOWNS

A 60-second film, then shorter social edits from the same material.

UNSCRIPTED

Long-form episodes that run between launches, not because of them.

VERTICALS

Shorts and Reels cut from the episodes. Then the next campaign.

NOT READY FOR A YEAR?

START WITH ONE PROJECT.

Most partnerships start as a single job. Someone needs a film, we make it, and somewhere in the process both sides work out whether this should keep going. We take one-off work happily — no pitch about retainers, no upsell in the delivery email. If it turns into something ongoing, good. If it doesn't, you got the film you needed.

A SINGLE FILM

Concept, shoot, and edit — one flagship piece plus the social cuts out of it.

from $3,500

A CONTENT DAY

One shoot day, a month of social in a single go. Stills included.

from $1,800

EVENT COVERAGE

A day on site, cut into a recap film and a set of clips you can use all year.

from $2,500

If you move to a partnership within 90 days, your project fee comes off the first month.

THE PROCESS

HOW A YEAR ACTUALLY RUNS

01

We map the year

Before anything is shot, we sit down with your calendar — the events, the launches, the giving season — and build a shooting schedule around the moments that matter.

03

The archive compounds

Every quarter you have more usable story than the last. By month twelve, we're cutting films from footage nobody else could have gotten.

02

We show up on cadence

Shoot days are booked in advance. No scrambling, no rush fees, no "can you come Thursday." The rhythm is set and we keep it.

PROOF

WHAT A LONG RELATIONSHIP MAKES POSSIBLE

Each of these started as one job. None of them stayed that way.

ACTIVE PARTNERSHIP

BLACK PROJECT SUP

MAUI · SIX MONTHS AND COUNTING

A paddle company on Maui whose gear has taken more than forty champion titles. Elite product, and — like most specialist brands — an archive of content that mostly hasn't seen the light of day.

What a brand like that runs short of isn't credibility. It's time. Our job is to make sure everything already happening — a campaign shoot, a conversation with a customer, a season of racing — leaves behind enough material to keep publishing for months afterward. One shoot day becomes a hero film, a run of social cuts, and a set of verticals. An afternoon with Chris becomes an episode of Unscripted and the shorts that come out of it. Six months in, the work feeds itself.

of continuous production — campaigns, series, and social, still running

"Client quote goes here — one or two sentences, ideally about what the film did to the room rather than how nice it looked."

Chris Freeman, Founder, Black Project SUP

MARIN MONTESSORI

THE GATHER FOR GOOD · ONGOING PARTNER

The Gather for Good is Marin Montessori's annual fundraiser and speaker series — a stage that has hosted Al Gore, Sam Altman, and Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull. Our job isn't to document the evening. It's to make the room feel something before the ask.

We produce the story films that open the night, the recap that carries it forward, and the year-round footage that makes both possible.

"He navigated the realities of high-profile events with remarkable composure — coordinating with communications and public relations teams, adapting to constant changes, and managing complex approval processes without ever making that complexity visible to the rest of us."

Carolyn Woolf, Assistant Principal, Marin Montessori

WILDERNESS COLLECTIVE

A DECADE IN THE FIELD · PAST CLIENT

Wilderness Collective runs off-road, off-grid expeditions — motorcycle and UTV trips through Yosemite, Death Valley, Baja, and the Grand Canyon — for people who need to slow down by speeding up. I spent ten years with them: leading the tours, filming them, and building the brand partnerships that came out of them.

That work put me on trips with Can-Am and Sea-Doo, and inside Lululemon's Escape and Explore collection — a limited-edition technical line born on a multi-day motorcycle expedition from Sequoia to Yosemite. Ten years of showing up for the same organization is where this retainer model came from.

"Miah has a unique blend of top-tier camera work as well as strong direction that ultimately has helped us to produce content that has grown our business and that of our clients."

QUESTIONS WORTH ASKING

LET'S START WITH WHAT'S COMING UP

Tell us the two or three things happening this year that are worth filming — a launch, a season, an event, the thing you'd regret not having on film. We'll tell you which tier covers it, or whether it's a simpler to start with one project.
